12 When I send you Artemas or Tychicus, do my best to come to my meeting in Nicopolis, for I have decided to spend the winter there.
13 Provide all that is necessary for the journey of Zenas, the lawyer, and Apollo, so that nothing is lacking.
14 As for our own, let them learn to dedicate themselves to the practice of good works, so that they meet daily needs and are not unproductive.
15 All those who are with me send greetings. Greetings to those who love us in the faith. Grace be with you all.
My comments:
Verse 9: Avoid Foolish Controversies Paul is saying that we should avoid it.
(Genealogy means to register acts of patriarchs, or study of family-related kinship whether they are biblical or not).
Even for God there are no genealogies or preferences, the Lord Jesus paid for it on the cross and our faith has made us all alike, indifferent to nations or races, so these genealogical questions have lost their foundation in Christianity, the Christian are a unique people united in one body that is Jesus Christ, we can and must know the history of Jesus.
But what saves us is faith in the person of Christ, Paul goes on to say that we must also quarrel and contend about the Law as the law was left behind in the past, we are now under grace, then discussing or wanting to use the law Or even parts of it in Christianity are useless and worthless.
Verse 10: As for the one who causes divisions, Those people who want to divide the church with their fables or doctrines different from that preached and taught by Jesus and the apostles Titus or the church should warn him a first and second time. If these people continue to create problems and not listen to the true doctrine that is salvation, and grace. After that, reject them.
Verse 11: You know that such a person has perverted himself and is in sin Paul is saying that Titus and the Church know perfectly well that this person is perverted if he perverts Paul then comes to the extremity of calling these people who preach lies, who try to change the truth of (The word perverted in Greek means that Satan is perverting this person), Paul compares them to immoral and characterless people, even the apostle tells Titus that this person Herself is doomed.
Verse 12-15: When I send you Artemis or Tychicus Tiquicus one of Paul's assistants, he is quoted in Acts 20, 4, Ephesians 6, 21 Colossians 4, 7 and 2 Timothy 4, 12 and the Nicopolis City, The winter there. Was on the Greek coast of the Adriatic,
Zenas, the jurist, said the Doctor of Law, is one of the Seventy Disciples and was one of the followers of the apostle Paul. The term nomikos ("lawyer", "doctor of the Law"), applied to Zenas, appears in the Gospels in various forms. As nomodiakalos, "a teacher of the Law", and as grammateus, "a scribe", all of them representing the same kind of profession. Prior to his conversion, Zenas was one of the defenders of the Mosaic Law. [1] He is quoted in the New Testament in "Help Zenas, the scribe of the law, and Apollos on his journey, that nothing be lacking" (Titus 3:13).
Paul again asks the Cretans to continue in the good work, and says goodbye to him of the other members who were there with him.
