Chapter 1 verse
5 Though you are aware of all this, I want to remind you that the Lord has liberated a people from Egypt but later destroyed those who did not believe.
6 And as for the angels who have not kept their positions of authority but forsook their own dwelling place, he has kept them in darkness, bound with everlasting chains for the judgment of the great day.
7 In like manner, Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding cities indulged in immorality and unnatural sexual intercourse. Being under the punishment of eternal fire, they serve as examples.
8 Likewise, these dreamers defile the body, reject the authorities, and defame the heavenly beings.

Verse 5: These Christians were warned by the apostle about the false teachers, but they had become negligent and no longer watched.
