Romans
Chapter 1 verses.
13 I want you to know, brothers, that I have often planned to visit you, but I have been hindered until now. My purpose is to reap some fruit among you, just as I have gathered among the other Gentiles
14 I am debtor both to Greeks and to barbarians, both wise and ignorant.
15 Therefore I am willing to preach the gospel also to you who are in Rome.
16 I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for the salvation of every one that believeth; first of the Jew, after the Greek.
Comment :
Verse 13: Paul makes it very clear that he desired to go to Rome before, but he was prevented (Gr Kôlô)
Verse 14: Paul had a duty to preach to the worshipers and the uneducated, to preach to the Jews and the Gentile,
Verse 15: Paul is clearly saying that he would like to preach to the Romans, he does not refer to Christians already converted from Rome, he is referring to the non-Christian Romans, just as he had already stated in verse 13, the pagan Romans the same way as he reaped among the heathen of other nations.
Verse 16: He is not ashamed to preach the gospel (Good News), because the good news about the kingdom of the heavens is actually a way of showing God's mercy to men, thereby giving man the chance to save and have a second life in the Kingdom of God.
